Post Weird Ticking Noise 2009 Bws
Recently I've to rebuilt everything on my 2009 Bws, when testing it earlier I had noticed a ticking noise from the rear going 10 - 80 etc km/h. Wondering if anyone may have a guess to what it is.

Thanks,
- Devon

It also ticks when idling, no clue why. My guess is either the variator or clutch.

Same with mine. A light ticking noise occurs within the cvt. I opened up my cvt cover but still couldn't make out what it was. You should do the same with yours.

Take the cover off and see if you have belt slap .
The belt will be jumping around trying to settle on pulleys .
This is a example of very bad belt slap
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jl86APAMgc
Alot of people take out the shimming washer for more top speed and it can cause belt misalignment and belt slap

2nd thing that is common people pinch the belt when putting on a new belt .
So the variator fan rattles and fuses to the crankshaft .
It is fixable with emery pary anf needle files if you fuse it on
The correct way is have slack in the belt when you tighten down the variator nut .

Same with mine. A light ticking noise occurs within the cvt. I opened up my cvt cover but still couldn't make out what it was. You should do the same with yours.

Found out the issue, Every time the rear wheel rotates fully 360 degrees it ticks. I and my dad opened up the cvt and past the clutch and into the gears, rotating the gears by the rod still made the clicking noise. After pin-pointing witch one, we found out one of the teeth on the 3rd biggest gear being minimally shorter than the rest. I've since bought all new gears and some extra upgrades. Hope that helps you issue too! :toot:

My issues are are either some or all of these below:

-belt slapping because of missing shim behind the variator fan.
-variator fan is loose
-starter gear is still slightly engaged causing a rattle sound. It doesnt even work properly so I'm just gonna ditch it.
