I thought about putting it there maybe I still will. This was supposed to be a thread to answer the questions of those who join and ask one question and then never come back or those damn threads asking about leo vince pipes!

Here's my noob question. Do we have flywheels? For the rucks getting work done to your flywheel is one of the best/cheapest mods you can do and I hear about it all the time, but I have never once heard someone mention an flywheel over here. Im gonna guess that we don't since I didn't find one during my rebuild, I just want to make sure.

Post Re: ALL NOOBS ASK QUESTIONS HERE FIRST!!!
Heres a noob question for all you scooter gurus

I've been riding my zuma for about a week now, and I noticed that when I ride WOT, and then let go of the throttle and just coast, a weird high pitched noise comes from the engine, kind of like a jet engine unwinding, if you know what I mean.

The scooter is a 2003, 100% stock, 9000 kms

I'm just wondering if this is normal at all, or if it shows of any damage to the engine

Thanks, Simon

You are right, it's the turbine powering down. If it would simply stop, the torque difference would slam you and your scoot into the pavement in a millisecond.

I also cools the exhaust ports, not to mention the counter oscillating vortex generator that allows for stealth riding.

It's normal

I thought that Yamaha got rid of that for th '08 because of emmissions crap, you know "nuclear" waste in the atmosphere.

OK, here is the question:

what do I do (cheap) to make my Zuma go 60 MPH and still maintain 123 MPG?

:D

Isn't there a flywheel behind the variator? The starter (like a normal car) is linked to it.

No that's the gear for the electric start, if your talking about the large gear behind the vario. On the ruckus its behind the radiator, so maybe behind the fan on the starboard side of the scooter. But for some reason I feel like I would have seen something if we had one while going 70cc.

Its very important to check your lunar module, and if you haven't replaced the chrome reverse muffler bearings, that could cause a wooshing sound!

Ive been waiting until our annual training to come up so Ill have extra time to work on it. AT is always boring so I figured that would give me a perfect opportunity to finish it. Also I had been bookmarking and saving all the info I thought would be good, but my computer broke and I have to start all over again.
