Post Moderator rules (updated 5-7-09)
No jumping out at people, calling people's scooter rice, starting or escalating arguments, or whining about how much money they have spent on their scooter. Also no bitching at people for posting in the wrong forums, not using the search..... etc, advising them that there is already a thread about a subject and whatnot is Ok, but I dont want any "Use the search, dumbass" type posts.

I booted PZ as a mod, he was starting to sound quite a bit like Oldguy. Even starting arguments. I dont need that crap, god, a bad moderator can cause more problems than they fix.

Sorry guys, I just had to rant, the rest of you are doing a great job.

Post Re: Moderator rules
Deleted the old butt crap from this post to bring it up to date.

The "lets ban so and so" and "Im gonna delete" stuff needs to stop. You guys need to Pm me with concerns before jumping on peoples backs and deleting posts. And sending warnings to other moderators, c'mon people.

We all need to take a step back when things get tense. You need to think about whether deleting a post will do more harm than good, if you really need to be jumping in on a problem or if it will work itself out without the hate turning toward you. Etc

I really dont want to start problems with this post or make people quit or leave, ZF is supposed to be about freedom of posting, saying what you want without worrying about Nazi moderators. IE Provo, that is how we came in to existance if you take the time to read back to the start of ZF.

I really dont give a dookie if things drift off topic, this is all supposed to be about having fun, you can try and steer the topic back, but deleting random posts will only make people pissed off and make them think we're a bunch of Nazis.

Post Re: Moderator rules (updated 5-7-09)
I understand.

No deleting stuff that goes off topic posts anymore

I have no idea who warned another moderator? That is what PMs are for.

Any-haw I think we got all that sorted out with the sister thread thing. Hopfully.

Don't worry about me quitting. I'm completely addicted to this forum and I want to see it go places in the future. I like it here and the people are great.

I asked the other moderators if it was ok to clean up that thread to put it back on topic before I deleted that stuff from the directory thread, I just didn't do it without consultation first.

So what is one to do when another member keeps heffing up my useful threads with jaw-jacking about something completely off topic to where 90% of the thread is whining and moaning about how I'm insensitive to international business? I just saw what a ruckus D-fens was going through and I thought people should know that there are other suppliers out there for the Z125. Smelly isn't the only game in town. I thought it had a positive affect on Smellys' communication with his customers.

Please let me know if I'm out of line.

I know these new rules are partially inspired by my recent arguement with Z Geaux.

Hyazuma

Post Re: Moderator rules (updated 5-7-09)
Like I said in another post, it's just bad form to get into the habit of deleting people's posts. It's one thing to delete spammers, but members take it differently.

And I am not aware of one moderator warning another.

Post Re: Moderator rules (updated 5-7-09)
Really, unless it's offensive I dont delete any posts.

I'm sure all of you can remember something I fixed (aka youtube embedd) and then I asked the people to remove the posts themselves. I think thats perfectly fine.

Just every now and then you gotta slap topics back on topic. And if it gets out of hand lock the thread for a little bit.

Post Re: Moderator rules (updated 5-7-09)
I wouldn't go around locking threads, either. Not just because it gets off topic alot. Many times less is more, guys.

Here is a good example of when a thread should be locked:

http://www.zumaforums.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6422

That one got totally out of control. Locking it had nothing to do with anything being off topic.

Guys, go back and read what JW wrote:

Keep that in mind. It's all about fun.

A friendly reminder that make sure it is really offensive and not just offensive to you. Maybe ask Jdubbya or one of the other mods before removing it unless it is just so far past the line you can't see it. Not saying its bad but I know you have a lower tolerance for things that may be offensive. Like Lyle has stated we don't want to start pissing people off and taking the fun out of the care free forum.

Well, since I'm no longer in the gold lounge I dont think that should really be a problem. After all, even JW doesnt want it in the open forum.

I give extra slack to the funny pictures thread. I thought the vid JW posted was pretty dumb though.

One question though, may I immediately delete posts that are clearly SPAM i.e Links to porn, pills, pirated software, ect or would you still like it reported up? Thanks.

Ok, I see now. I was tring it out, but did not do anything. Don't want to mess anything up, you have a good thing running here. Thanks again for the "promo". :D

For clarity, only ban custom email address like ABC123@Pornstargalz.com. NOT dynamo55b@aol.com or hotmail, msn ect cause that will ban e-mails from all the Aol users
