Post Rear disc conversion now possible! - preorders on here
Yep its really possible and im ready to have it done right now.
The new BWS-X swingarm can be modified as can the stock or aftermarket BWS wheels!.
I dont have pics of everything so i stole some from yahoo, i can do you a deal for a matching front RPM wheel to go with the back too.
Everything bolts right on as OEM!.
Sorry for the spam but its not something that i can actually sell, more of a service for the members, this is the best way they can see it!.
If you want to wait to see my results, its going to be about 1-2 weeks till mine is finished

I want to start a preorder as it makes sense to get a bunch of swingarms done at once to save time, here are the costs:

Swingarm: $90
Image

Rear wheel: stock wheel supplied new $100 or RPM 9 spoke* $120 (i can paint any colour for $10 extra)
Image

Brembo mini caliper: $130 (not sure which type, so pic is for reference)
Image

220mm disc: $60 (pic for reference)
Image

Frando radial rear lever: $150 (bunch of colours!)
Image

Stainless hose: $40

TOTAL: $590 with RPM rim or $570 with new stock!!

Not a bad deal huh?

*I want to make it clear that the stock rim is lighter by about 100grams, this is why i kept mine :D

Can you get a matching RPM front wheel? I'm going to wait for your results but I have gauged interest.

You mean a professional body shop right? Not actually you and a can of spray paint...haha ;)

The picture kinda looks like a painted silver. Do you know if it is shiny? Then again, it looks kind of like a casted aluminum too...What is it made of?

(can you tell I'm more interested in the wheels? :v: )

Yeah, that looks bad butt. The drum in the back is so inferior to the disc in front, it's laughable. It would be very cool to have a disc in back. The Zuma would stop so much better, it would be night and day.

Dan, forgive me, but I sometimes have trouble understanding your posts. You do or do not need a new swing arm and wheel?

Is a replacement wheel required? If it is a new STOCK, then the budget-minded modder

(excuse me while I laugh hysterically :haw: :D :whip: )

could stick with their stock wheels?

Sorry dude, the 125 has me busy enough!.

As for the wheel........ it needs to be sent here and then modified, cant just use the stock one :(
I was just going to offer the RPM but i thought honesty is always best :D

Oh and a change in caliper, something much better and 4 piston...... same price!.

Im working with FRANDO now, so i think its cool to have everything the same :D

Haha yes i can.

RPM wheels are cast alloy as you observed, all colours are painted...... not so greatly, which is why i usually repaint them!.
Not a pro bodyshop, but sprayed properly and heat treated, it wont flake off.

The alloy they use i cant say and i dont even think they say.
But its heavier than stock and i know yamahas wheels use better materials....... hence why i keep the stock ones.

I am very interested in this kit. Id plan to do both wheels tho. 200 grams really isn't a whole lot when you can shed pounds in other areas. Id want the RRGS front big brake kit to go with... but it'd be baller if front and rear calipers matched up. It'd also be sweet if the brake pads matched something common and easy to find for jo blow who lives in smaller cities.

Post Re: Rear disc conversion now possible! - preorders on here
SBL, one quick question. Im looking at those Frando radial rear levers, and wondering 3 things.

1. Will i need to buy a different handlebar to mount these?
2. Do they come in Front as well (matching sets are sexier)
3. I noticed the way it would be mounted, the gibblets would be mounted towards me, in an area where space is non existant for getting on and off the scoot (knees n such). How far would it stick in towards my body if it did mount? The picture works for the most part, but im having to gauge the size based on the guestimate on the handle size. Also where are the mounting brackets located? i dont see them.

Other than that, this is a splendid idea. Once my rear drum is gone, instead of replacing the drum I would like to do this mod. Also buy 2x of the same type 9 spoke rims. I just hope that the tires are the same type/model etc, so i dont have to special order them.

Oh yeah, why does the pic of the RPM 9 spoke have 10 spokes??? just wonderin
