Post Race : My Zuma vs Aprilia 250 and Sym 300i
Today I took the long way to work. It was nice and brisk outside. Not really cold but refreshing. Santa Fe drive by my house is a 55mph road with stop lights on it.

Pulling up to a red light I noticed two scooters in front of me.
Aprilia Sportcity 250
Horizontal, single cylinder, 4 stroke. Forced liquid cooling with centrifugal pump. 4 valve head with overhead camshaft.

SYM Citycom 300i
Mean, slick 20hp scooter. Top speed around 85mph

The Aprilia had an exhaust and a J Costa Variator, what ever the heck that thing is. The owner seemed pretty proud of it though.
When I pulled up they both looked over and mentioned it sounds like I did a lot of work to my scooter. I told him it was a work in progress. The guy on the SYM told me they want to see what "that little thing" has.
I tried to explain to them that it still needed tuning but I would hit it when the light turned green.

The left turn arrow turned on so I guess they knew it was about time for us to head straight. The guy on the Aprilia hit the brakes and hit the throttle. His exhaust sounded mean as hell.
Light turned green and we were all off! Both of them in the right lane and me in the left.
Half way thought the intersection, my front end rose up and I had to let off the throttle to get it down, then I went WOT again passing both the Aprilia and SYM very aggressively. My max speed is about 61. (I have stock gears and no overrange kit) I let off the throttle at 60mph and waited for the other guys to catch up. They blew past me once I slowed down to about 55. They apparently have a high top end.

I didn't expect this outcome but it sure put a smile on my face!

Yes pretty much.

I still have a Delta Clutch, Wing Bell and Racing springs to install.

When the weather gets better, I will be taking some videos. They will express things much better than words. It's snowing right now though.

I question whether the Sportcity was full throttle. My co-worker's Scarabeo 200 is very quick and still easily does 80 mph. It is heavier than the Sportcity and only has 19 hp vs. the Sportcity's 30 hp.

The Sportcity should dust the Citycomm as it is 80 pounds lighter and has 50% more HP. :wth:

The Sportcity is a very sweet ride.
