Or, you could just purchase marine-grade heat shrink tubing. It has a continuous lining of adhesive which is activated when heat is applied. It provides an excellent seal that protects against moisture intrusion. The need to be a clumsy moron who uses slivers of hot glue is avoided.

Although a scooter does not have to be fitted with marine.grade materials ...
why would making a DIY seal draw such an unkind comment about being a clumsy moron ?? ??
