SCARY! :wth:

"Every step we take towards making the State our Caretaker of our lives, by that much we move toward making the State our Master."
Dwight D. Eisenhower

"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security."
Benjamin Franklin

When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”
Benjamin Franklin

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
Thomas Jefferson

“There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
James Madison

Something else that is eating my butt. "USA's top export is gas and other fuels" is today head line story. WTF?

Fuel's at 3.50/gal if you can find it that low and we're exporting the dookie. Who the hell is in charge of this country?

Why? When they can ship it off and make money and then the company they hold shares in saudi arabia can make money selling their oil to us at a huge rate....why save the american people money when they can further line the greedy pockets with blood money? And then throw this crap propaganda out there to distract you from the real issue...the fucking governemnt fellas. This is standard military divide and conquer, right here at home, if you ask me. We did it to korea, completely turned our backs on china after wwII, and helped the middle east continue their age old battle and turn turn a profit on arms and oil. Now there is no profit to be turned here in the land of milk and honey and the reduction of our citizens to a third world nation is taking place RIGHT NOW!!! Wake up to this!!! And please don't come saying it is the people on welfares fault...that is what the fellas with the power want. Really think about where ALL OUR MONEY went during the BUSH administration....IRAQ!!!!! oh and HALIBURTON and numerous other weapons and security and construction contractors.

I read the story in the WSJ and I don't think it is totally bad that we are selling gasoline , diesel and other petroleum based fuels. At least the USA is making and selling something outside our borders. Oh and gas is $3.10 here is Roswell right now. The real problem isn't where the gas goes but WHERE the oil comes from. We need to be pumping our own oil and not buying it from the Arabs.

I'd hate it as much as everyone else, but the only way we're going to have a more fuel-efficient fleet is with much higher gas taxes.

Look at Europe.

I disagree.

Granted high taxes will force many people but some it won't. Also it is possible to go fuel-efficent without high taxes. If there were true tax incentives many would switch. Not the so-called ones we have now because they don't work. For instance I ride one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in the country but I have not received any tax incentive for it! If they actually had a tax incentive for anybody who uses ANY vehicle that gets 40mph or better{city} then there would be a significant number of people who would switch.

Also if they would do the same for the companies making the vehicles. Reward them if they can make fuel efficient vehicles not punish them for not. It is a very well know fact that people respond much better to positive reinforcement than a negative one.

and also when we got the suposed same car from europe here it gets far less mpg then it does over in europe

part of it is becuase of the hundreds of pounds of saftey crap that has to be added because americnas have to have there hands held at every thing and cant take charge of there own saftey
