Post 2009 Zuma question
I bought a 09 zuma on CL. Has 2700 miles. Carb was replaced by previous owner, it seemed to run ok. The new carb has a different throttle cam on it, so I didnt have to cut the notch out. Replaced the pipe with a Fly Brand exhaust. Used the springs and weights that came with it. Red springs, so assume 2000rpm.
BTW the pipe is ridiculously loud, much louder than my LEO.
Took it out for a spin, super slow acceleration and topped out at 35. My old 09 Zuma got 45-47 mph with the same modification and got there pretty quick.

So where should I start?
Replace the belt and upgrade to https://www.zumasrusstore.com/collectio ... sion-kit-1

Different weights and springs?

Thanks for your time.
Chris

Post Re: 2009 Zuma question
Start by properly tuning your transmission just because it came with those parts doesn’t mean they are the right parts
Even the Leo pipes came with the wrong rollers all the time
How much did the rollers it came with weigh my bet is you need to be around 6 grams check where you belt is riding up to and make sure it’s going ngball the way up
Have you put a new oem belt in I’m betting it’s hard and glazed if it’s the original belt

And unless that trans kit is an over range you won’t get more top speed from it

Thanks for the reply. ordered a new belt and some 6 gram weights. See if that make a difference.

Replaced the belt and tops out at 40mph now. The new belt was much wider than the original. Still waiting on the roller weights.

Post Re: 2009 Zuma question
So installed the polini 70cc kit, replaced the stock 80 main jet with a 90. Bought a NGK B8ES 2411 for it. My question is what gap should I run on the spark plug?
Thanks again for the help
