Post subject:  YAMAHA ZUMA BUGEYE 50 - Dog on acceleration after warmed up

I have read through several of the posts when the Zuma gets hot. Tried greasing the sheaves, belt looks good, but that did nothing. This bike has 2700mi on it now. I got it 2nd hand with 1800mi on it and has always done this. I just haven't done anything about it yet. It is all stock AFAIK except there is an Athena pipe in place of stock. Anyone have any suggestions what I need to do to get this thing to be consistent when it comes to starting off.

When it's cold it takes off great. IT tops out at 45 on the flat and will hold a hill at 40mph as long as I'm going that fast already, but will slow down going up a hill if I'm only going about 30 and it's warm. I noticed that when it is warm and is a dog starting out, it really picks up after 30mph. I'm new to working on these things, but learn fast and am not afraid to get my hands dirty. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Belt looks good are your eyes calibrated to measure down to half a mm
And unless the be,t has been changed it’s old and glazed and good for dookie

It’s an 05 so it has the crappy smaller 2 shoe clutch and bell with piss poor ramp ang,e that doesn’t play well with stiffer springs

Find an 08 to 11 clutch bell and rear sheave and replace that ancient belt lid span of a be,t is 3 to 5 years or 7500 miles which ever comes first. I hope the tires have been replaced too they have the same age life span
