Stock Contra works fine with gears pipe and bbk
I was forced to go back because my polini clutch was dropped on the floor and is out of round .

The malossi springs do not work On my stock clutch 105 mm 2 shoe clutch .
Polini clutch springs and contra springs do fit stock clutch .
If you change the contra you need heavier variator weights to overcome it .

Polini yellow clutch springs worked best with gears pipe and cylinder.
Polini Green was close on my scoot after gears perfect before .
These were both with stock clutch .

I have a Tach the pipe and cylinder and gears is doggy below 5 k rpms starts to pull as it gets close and moves past 6k and then at 7k you know you are on the pipe it is pushes to 9k and then drifts to 9600 .
You don't need a tach but it helps .

I had to go up from green to yellow because of the gears .

I have a malossi delta that I am tuning alot of variables to dial in and had to get different sets of springs that only work with this clutch .

It's just that I think my clutch part is binding and the springs as well as the contro look absolutely rusted abd about to break anytime soon. I figured I'd spend just a bit more getting new springs and a contra but get it for a good pipe. So just to confirm I should just get a new stock contra or get a malossi white spring (I heard they are just a tiny bit more stiffer than stock) and get 5k rpm springs (yellow)? I am planning on getting a new belt as well and that should theoretically be able to get me to the speeds you are getting.

If your belt is not slipping and it downhifts the way you like for example your scoot has plenty of power coming out of corners you dont need to change contras .
From you saying you can do wheelies easy tells me you have plenty of power on take off .
So I dont see the need for you to get a upgraded contra .

I bought this set https://www.scootertuning.ca/en/clutchs ... olini.html
And speaking of pipes since shipping is such a big part of your cost .
I would go up a notch and get a yasuni r stage 6 pro replica for example
here is what i used for reference
/www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/tecnigas-exhaust
https://www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/sports- ... s-part-two
The stage 6 cylinder is a clone of your athena athena actually builds them for stage 6

Why I went for the Next R over the Stage 6 or Yasuni simply because I bought it new for a 100 bucks .
If i would have got either one of those at 30% off ,I would probbaly have one of them instead

I no longer wheelie from a standstill ever since the upgears were installed. I am also just wanting a next-r as it is not a stock crank-killer. I hear those pipes you listed go over 10k rpms and since I dont have a tach I wouldn't know hence I am not taking the risk.

Ok I looked at the graphs and am liking thr yasuni r due to 1. it's power and 2. decently cheap on scooter tuning. I will however need a tach so I can keep my rpms below 10k. Do you know any places to get them cheap? Ebay and scooter tuning are pretty expensive.

Yeah that Yasuni R was my first choice .

www.amazon.com.au/Runleader-Backlights- ... ay&sr=8-12

I use one like this and paid about 25 bucks I searched Amazon Austrailia
You just wrap the wire around the spark plug wire .

You can control rpms also with your roller weights just go on the heavier end of the your tuning range .

Dialed in the cvt
Cleaning up take off has brought top end down a couple of mph more like 53-54 mph now .
Acceleration is better

Malossi delta clutch
The white conta spring with the malossi torsion controller gives me enough acceleration out of corners and hill climbing.
The yellow clutch springs at the highest tension with weights in center position engages at 5800 rpm which provides good takeoff .
Best I could do with the whites clutch springs was 4800 rpms

Slider weights
5 grms is too light mashed throttle 9600 rpms peaks at 9700 but low on power at the top
5.5 grams mashed throttle 9200 rpms peaks at 9500
6 grams mashed throttle 8800 rpms peaks at 9400
Top speed was best with 6's and 5.5

When you tuned the rollers did you refer to this thread? viewtopic.php?f=71&t=23120

Since your pipe's powerband is around 8-9k I'd see if you can keep it at 9k from the get go and start rising around 40mph ( refer to the graph)

I did use that thought process
The pipes band is just below 8000 rpms to 9200ish
Sliders do act almost a gram lighter .
5 grams acts a little light 6.5 acts a little on the heavy side
5.5 and 6 hold a rpm and push past 45 at the same rpm before overreving because of the gears

Changed out the gear oil just went 800 miles on new gears .
Gear oil was pretty dark from the gears wearing in .
The malossi delta clutch is better than stock or the polini as long as you take your time customizing one part of it at a time .
Standard clutches you just swap contra and clutch springs .
The delta lets you increase tension on clutch springs and adjust clutch bite and swap contras and clutch springs .
If you focus on one variable at once it dials in real tight .
Yellow contra really feels right now hill climbing and coming out of corners .
5.5gram sliders to 6 grams is perfect with that contra .
The yellow clutch springs at max tension engage at 5800 rpms
Working on clutch bite next with the sliding weights currently using middle position of the sport weights.
Acceleration is way better I am running 54 down about 2 miles per hour dialed in this way but acceleration is way better.

Good work. I now know that I'd rather have a faster 0-40+ acceleration time than a 60mph+ setup which lacks acceleration. It is just much better to be able to zoom so much quicker from a standstill.

I shimmed to go fast for the bragging rights mostly.
But take off was crappy because i was starting out in 2nd gear because the belt was starting higher .
The roads I run on are 45 mph speed limit but people go 50-55 so 54 works just as good as 56 mph .
The 55 mph roads I only run on when basically no traffic because everyone is flying at close to 65 .
More importantly now I take off fast enough that nobody tailgates me I actually get some second looks when I decide to jump on it at the traffic lights .
I was revving it up next to a kid in a big pick up truck .
This kid yells out the window at the next traffic light what is in that thing ?
I told him Nitrous !

Snorkel is out of Zuma .
It is a little louder it might be faster top end a mile or so .
I did have a 58.3 mile run wind aided and 54.1 against same wind .
It is quicker to 0-35
My wife still beats me with her malossi vino to 35 and then after that i blow by her as the gears kick in .
I use the same 2 mailboxes to measure take off since i started modding .
Taking the snorkel out does add more air flow .
Which does lean it out so i will have to check jetting on the main it feels and sounds close to right.
I was on the richer side with the 82 main and 46 pilot so i had a little room for extra air .
I did have to adjust idle mixture a little richer .

Gear oil drained out
Noticed a slow leak and then she just dripped out over night after one of my cruises .
One of the bolts underneath the torque driver came loose .
Polished the nut up real nice then spun it open .
Will be putting thread lock on them the next time .
Gave me a excuse to dial in the clutch put in lighter weights in the delta clutch so it would engage a few hundred rpm later .
On Yelow springs highest tension stock weight in center was at 5800ish rpms for enagagement .
