Post Zuma 70cc Carb and Throttle Cable Upgrade
I bought the following kit from scootertronics to add to my already installed 70cc kit:
http://www.scootertronics.com/zuma-carb-upgrade.html

This is the cable by itself:
http://www.scootertronics.com/two-strok ... cable.html

It came with a "mikuni style" single throttle cable that I installed, adjusted to maximum, and still have some crazy slack in the wire. The sheath itself seems too short.

First, where should I attach the cable so it doesn't flex or pull on the carb itself (held on only by the rubber intake) and second, is this simply the wrong wire for the job or should I also get a different inner throttle sleeve for the handlebar?

Such as: https://www.denniskirk.com/motion-pro/c ... 903153.sku

Wait, that's not a Dellorto carb, is it? I've been looking for a 17.5 auto choke, and everywhere I've found them they're nearly $200. What's going on here?

On the throttle tube
Ok you can try to mod and try to make it work and then one day when you think you are shutting your throttling down your throttle will roll over and drive right through the back of your garage.

Or do it right and buy the throttle tube for a single pull carb that you linked too

Here is a good thread
viewtopic.php?t=12321

The one thing I would add when your putting the grip on the plastic throttle tube get it on as far as possible and you can throw it in the microwave for 30 seconds to help loosen it up so you can slide it on the rest of the way .

That old saying you get what you pay for applies but sometimes you get lucky.
jmkrjr72 has a very strong opinion for not ordering from them There stuff is to hit or miss.
I am in the market for a dellorto carb also might have to wait for the black friday or boxing day sale on scootertuning.ca 20% off helps .
Other wise I will just leave my wish list around for my wife to find she would do that with her Victoria Secret catalog.

I read around about them, too, and decided to take the risk. It took two weeks to get the stuff, but the carb, what seems like a dellorto knock-off seems of reasonable quality and has autochoke and an oil line barb. It came with that throttle cable, which is too long for the job, though, and an air filter.

I've resorted to buying the correct single-cable throttle tube and cutting the cable a bit to have the proper tension. I had it at maximum adjustability and it still had far too much slack in it. Will update soon with my thoughts on the scootertronics carb. Got it with a 97 main jet.

It's a knock-off but has auto-choke and an oil fitting.

If the carb gives you trouble
With that cast iron kit you could always rejet the stock carb to a 82 or 84 main with a vino pilot jet.
If the carb works well you could sell your stock one to one our members .
and get half your money back

Post Re: Zuma 70cc Carb and Throttle Cable Upgrade
Thought I'd post an update.

Everything is installed, the strange throttle cable is modified and installed, but the handle can still roll back. Working on a fix but there isn't much space inside the metal shrouds to work with.

Definitely a lot faster with the 70cc kit and dellorto knock-off. Had to spend a day tuning the air-fuel ratio but that's hopefully sorted.

In warm weather, should I be seeing smoke out the exhaust or not? It's relatively smokeless, which scares me a bit, for a two stroke.
Rollers that came with the Leo Vince exhaust are perfect for the kit.
