Post Re: Head gasket orientation
Would the same rule apply to the base gasket (my Trophy kit didn't come with instructions)?

The rib/bubble thing should face the same direction as the head gasket is facing?

Thanks, trying to figure some things out while waiting for more parts

Way I was told back in the day was, The part you are tightening down should compress the rib.

Most of them don't, that's why I am having trouble figuring it out from the how to's.

Anyone remember which way they put this gasket in?

Post Re: Head gasket orientation
I have leaking bottom gasket with new top performance black trophy kit. The kit came with a ridged bottom gasket and replacing with same one. I am guessing rib side on bottom gasket and ridge side fine on head gasket...?

Scoot-tuning.com recommended this stuff, Is non hardening.

Post Re: Head gasket orientation
I was wondering who retightens the head bolts after break in or warming up?

I was concerned this may effect the silicone seal on bottom gasket...

Thanks

The bottom gasket can only be installed one direction. The bottom gasket ridge ends up facing downwards to crankcase. So I put head gasket ridge face down as well.

I used a heat gun on the head right after assembly, waited a few mins, and was able to tighten a bit more. Maybe that will be enough...
