scottmanesis - by taking out that throttle stop as mentioned in one of the above posts, you have made your scooter very dangerous to ride. You need to replace your whole carb with a new working piece WITH a stock unit ASAP, for the safety of your self, anyone that rides it, and anyone driving on the streets around you.

For future reference to anyone reading this, IF you do not know what ANYTHING does, DO NOT touch it!!! Ask an expert before making NOVICE and *STUPID* decisions. (I don't mean to be harsh, but grinding off the throttle stop was just not a smart thing to do)

I think he is referring to completely removing the throttle stop, which I *think* can put you at risk for the throttle sticking at WOT. I had an old Datsun that I had put a Weber carb on, it didnt have a throttle stop set up, I was getting pissed off at it cause it wouldnt fire over, I mashed the gas (not running) and it stuck there until I smacked the carb. Someone said it could have been due to the fact that it was missing its throttle stop.

Well we're not talking about completely removing it. We're just grinding it down to the proper size.

If you’re wondering what makes me qualified to pass judgment sir; maybe the fact that I have been working on cars for MORE THAN half my life, the fact that I am a CERTIFIED Technician with over 150 certifications from Ford, you know cars, not these little TOYS, and a degree from a reputable college would make me qualified...

He said he ground of the stop with the screw off, not the cam lobe.

Quote: "I just shaved the stop off and ground the cam much less than what I have seen here, it pulls as far as the throttle cable will let it without hitting anything."

On the first page of this post there is a picture with a little black circle around the cam lobe. That is what you want to grind off...Look at the difference from the 08 and the one that is from the 05.

or you can leave everything intact and take the plastic off and use a dremel to grind it down

Thanks for the great write-up. I did this about 3 weeks ago and this is how the bike should have come. I did mine with the cam still attached. I also ended up knocking off the vacuum hose when I put the bucket back on. I got the "I told you so" look from her.
