my buddy took bws100 crank, jug and piston and cut his zuma 50 case to adapt to the crank. then he used a athena 70cc head on the 100 jug high compression it really rips same speed as a modded 70cc zuma but tons of torque with the longer stroke

The studs that hold the cylinder to the block are spaced differently on the BWS 100. The 100 cylinder will not fit the 50 case.

Hello specalk,

Well, It's been close to two years since you posted this and we haven't heard anything new of it. Did anything come of this engine swap, or did you simply spring for a 125 cc instead? I guess that would make more sense.

I´m from Panama (in Central America) here Yamaha sold the BWS100, but is no longer sold because of the new BWS125 4 stroke. but here you can find a lot of used scooters BWS100. In Colombia and Dominican Republic I know they are pretty famous, and can be found parts.

I have a 2009 BWS 100cc stock and runs very nice, top speed is 83km/h and 95km/h downhill.

hope this information helps...

I was unable to get my Hands on the Motor so I did a Fully Built 70cc LC Rocket. the 50 kitted is a better setup then the bws100. Someone Else will have to do this mod.

Holy thread resurrection batman!

Don't you mean a stock bws100? ;)

Sorry about the resurrection of this thread, but it's hard to tell how old these things actually are, going by the posted dates. Some of you guys really need to change your computer's clock. :)

There was another thread about a BWS 100 engine swap for a Zuma 50 here and Smellybumlove put down the information about the engine and prices ($1,300 at the time anyway).

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6568&hilit=100+cc+engine+swap&start=45

There was another thread where Smelly said that Taiwan passed a law where it's illegal to swap engines between bikes, so whether that previous thread where he rebuilds a Yamaha 100cc engine and ships it over to you, may or may not be what he's able to do now.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4723&p=52164&hilit=100+cc+engine+swap#p52164

Everybody seems to be excited about engine swapping a 2-stroke BWS100 engine, but nobody has really written anything about actually doing it. How easy/difficult it was and what the results were.

You would think that it would be a lot easier to smuggle BWS100 engines over the Mexican boarder. Judging by the lack of posts and the amount of videos on YouTube (not really any) that this just isn't that good of an option for people.

not true because i just ported the stool out of my z50 cases to make the 100 crank and jug etc fit in.

i ran the 16mm 12mm pin crank
bws 100 jug and head

all i did was 4 hours of porting and install the longer head studs everything else fit right in

you gotta use the 16mm crank flywheel and varaitor thats all

and im running a airsol head from a 70 due to higher compression the stock head was domed way out and ran low compression.
