Post Damn you guys...
So I rode my 125 to work, and was a little let down.. The big hill between the house and the office dropped me to 35-38mph, and traffic is always doing 45 or so. (It seems whenever I'm in my car, there's someone doing 35. Get on the Zuma, and a damn Suburban is wanting to do 60!)

Also, in an impromptu pit-bike-drag-race last weekend, I got pulled by my buddy on his POS China 150cc scoot, and that just won't do.

Soooo, the Enviromoto 155 kit is on its way, and some magnetic drain plugs since I'll be in there. Based on my schedule, I'm guessing it'll be 2 weeks or so until it's back on the road. I'm hoping the added power will let me pull 45 up the hill. It just seems like stock, the acceleration curve flattens out at 35-40, so my hope is this will take care of that!

Off to find some walk-through's for the "gotcha's" or anything. I'm guessing I'll end up pulling the whole engine out and do the work on the bench?

I ended up getting the enviromoto kit, and it's all done and it runs! Started right up after just a few seconds of cranking.

However, while doing the BBK, I adjusted the valves (4900 miles), and found them all to be on the tight side. The previous owner kept good records, but doesn't show valves being done.

Now when running I definitely hear some light clicking that's RPM dependent, and it sure sounds like it's coming from the rockers. Was anyone else's valvetrain noisier after the BBK, or do i need to go back and double-check my clearances? My LS1 car was noiser after I did the cam, so that's why I ask.

EDIT: I'm an idiot and read the mm measurement as inches.

Spent a while breaking in the new stuff and then went for the hill by my house.. Gonna have to verify with the video I took, but I think it was 48-52mph up the hill!! I would have been really happy with 45!

Completely stock CVT, gearing, everything, right down to the air filter.

Me = REALLY happy. Even did a little burnout. :toot:

If you added a TST variator and fooled around with some roller combos it could be even quicker..

I'm soooo hesitant to start down that road.. Seems like that's where the "never-ending tinkering" begins!

So the back story behind this video is.. I was down at VIR (Virginia International Raceway), and our motorcycle racing was done for the day. Zuma's, Grom's, and Chinese crap are the pit bikes of choice, and once the track goes cold, hijinks usually ensues. The guys in the background were good and drunk, and one of them grabbed a Grom and tried to do a donut. Well, about halfway around, the tire heated up, grabbed, and LAUNCHED itself and the rider, who never let go. The Grom ended up upside down, with the rider face down on the pavement, superman-style, still holding on. He wasn't hurt much, so we all had a good laugh.

One of my buddies said "Dude, you should take your hot-rod Zuma over there and show them how it's done". That's basically all the encouragement I needed, so I casually rode over, and started doing a donut. What you see here was the second half of it. I figured I'd ride out of it when I was done (or if the tire started gripping), so that's what you see here, but I was able to do the full 360. I hadn't tried anything like this with the Zuma before, so I'm glad it worked!
