Post Brand new bugeye
Is there any collector value in this Zuma? I just bought it, and am replacing the entire fuel system. I had the remainder of the tank of fuel it was delivered with in 2003(!!!). I plan on riding it, but if someone is collecting these things, this is about as new as it gets. Plastic still over the gauges even.

nice find
I have seen ultra low miles perfect conditions bugeyes sell above 2k but not above 3k .
I personally would just take advantage of how cherry it is and upgrade it for yourself.

Post Re: Brand new bugeye
Well, it was a long saga of actually buying the thing. I bought it because it is new, and had thought about moving it on to a good buddy who likes my blue bugeye. After picking it up, my wife informed me that we wouldn't be selling it to said friend, as she'd like to learn to ride it (!?!?!?). Very uncharacteristic for my wife, but she has been enjoying my scoot, so we'll see. I need to find her a FA 50 moped or something crashable to learn on so that the pristine bodywork doesn't get destroyed.

Funny how that works .
My wife caught the Scooter Bug also.
I went to buy one scooter and ended up with 3 for the same reason .
My wife sat on it took it around the drive way and up and down the road .
The zuma was to big for her so I bought a couple of vino's that were a package deal.
Then of course her next question is can we make them a little quicker .
So my 10 year old son and i started doing minor upgrades .
My son has asked for something he can bomb around in pit bike style so i also am looking for something small that if he knocks it around I wont care .
So I will be on the lookout for a 4th addition to our stable.

Well, I still haven't ridden it. I decided to replace the entire fuel system, and the petcock is on terminal backorder. I am expecting a petcock gasket this afternoon. I put the original in the ultrasonic for a few hours, an it cleaned up good enough to use until the new one comes off backorder. I even tested it with a pressure/vac pump to be sure it shuts off properly. I couldn't resist, and actually started it up a week or so ago from a pony tank. It seems to run well. My USC seems to have done well on that also.

ITS ALIVE!!! Not 80.5 miles anymore! I put it together Thursday, and fueled it yesterday. It was a little hesitant to start initially, but I covered the air inlet on the carb box with my hand, and it hit right off. I took my wife for a nice ride today. It is a bit sluggish at 1/4ish throttle. I'm pretty sure that I need to put the slide needle in the ultrasonic. That would cause the sluggish acceleration, and it is the only part of the carb I didn't clean in there. I put about 1/4 gallon of 50:1 premix in just to be safe, and after I ran it it a little, went to straight gas. It starts very easily now, and is a couple MPH faster than my 2005. Looks like I need a new belt for my other Zuma.
