Post Resurrecting an old hobby, but where to find parts?
Once upon a time I was a humble owner of a fun little Zuma. I had big plans for it. But the hoodlums of a crummy small town changed everything when they cut the chain and stole it away. Eventually, it faded to a memory with an unhappy ending. Having little interest in the four stroke monstrosities that hijacked the good Zuma name, my scooting days seemed like they'd come to an end.

Now, many years later, I am hoping to once again become a humble owner of a fun little two stroke Zuma. If all goes well, and no odometer shenanigans are revealed, I may soon come into possession of a low mileage 2009 with a handful of upgrades already in place, all for a decent price. But finding the parts I would want is not as easy anymore, seeing as it's technically an obsolete bike. I think I should be okay to find a good BBK and carb that would suit my needs. But I'd like to spice up the aesthetics with JDM tail lights and the old Canadian OEM low windshield. Can't seem to find them anywhere though. If anyone has suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

The JDMs are definitely looking like they may be out of circulation. I guess I could always look into removing the antenna signals and rigging my own wiring to imitate the same look. I never was good with wiring, but I guess it's nothing I can't educate myself on.

Thanks for the info on where to shop. Looks like between scooter tuning and dynoscooter I should be able to get just about everything I need. The deficit of available options really underscores just how much of a shame it is that Yamaha had to take the Zuma in the four stroke direction. These older versions are great bikes with so much potential, but it's much harder to capitalize on it.

Just one question. What is scooter turd shop?

When I was in the first years of college, I was working at a car repair shop. I can say for sure that none of us liked to mess with scooters, especially if it was a matter of replacing the chain.
