2004 vino builds
Goals 45+

started stock with restrictions
They both did about 30 mph .
Derestricted the stock exhaust by grinding out the restriction in head of the pipe with a dremel went from a dime sized hole to a quarter .
Took the wedding band restrictor out of variator
This had me hit 38-40
These light scooters are quicker off the line than the zuma they have 40 pound weight advantage.
Rejetted the carb with mikuni 75 and moved the needle 1 clip rich
It now hits 40 at 8800 rpms on stock pipe

Plan on bbk for both vinos have athena sport and malossi bbk
I just put a malossi on the zuma solid cast iron kit Revs up real nice .
I got a great deal on the athena from a buddy that is going race bore otherwise they would both be malossi.
variators to raise gear ratio and to improve shifting .
Upgrade pipe

parts on order or already here
malosssi bbk
athena bbk
Malosssi wild lion pipe
Malossi multivar
temp gauges to keep from cooking new cylinders

I will build stages one at a time
First stage is malossi bbk on one athena on other

Installed malossi sport on Vino number 1
Cut new carbon fiber reeds .35 mm polini to replace steel reeds .
Fabricated new gasket for intake Fel Pro gasket material from autozone .
Permamtex copper sealing intake and exhaust .
Fired it up with 84 main Too rich need to jet down the stock vino was 64 was running 70 mikuni before the malossi.
Put on the Malossi wild lion might go back too stock not much clearance on the Vinos.
CVT needs adjusting I am too heavy at the stock weight probably need to be in the mid 5 grams instead of the 6.5 stock.
42 mph acceleration needs work cvt shifts too early up from 40 mph .
That was just to get plug color .

Malossi sport and wild lion rocks on the vino.

75 main mikuni big difference in power need more plugs to chop its close .
Jammed on throttle and did a wheeley it also gets a little skitchy in the corners with theses thin tires and slides out if you jump on it to soon .
might have to tame this beast with stock exhaust .
the stock gears are very low and the vino real jumps off the line and gets to 42 quick.

Second break in run
Swapped vino tires so i have good tread front and back with proper inflation
She flys right up to 40 mph and makes the front endlight
42mph is where she rounds off at .
3/4 throttle runs 37-38 mph effortlessly and still has torque .
The bald back tire and wrong jetting were masking the cvt weights being off there is no hesitation or shifting with needle one clip rich and 75 mikuni.
With better tread the back end is not skitchy in corners and at high speed , I still don't jam on it coming out of the corners like I used too.
For jetting with the pipe 75 or 72 are close to right with the malossi 70 cc .
For breakin first 500 mph I will use the richer jet for now and I may stay with it .
70 worked for stock derestricted 50 cc .
After I put the michelin s1 I will dial in the CVT it makes no sense to dial it in twice

The wild lion with stock tires scraped today when i hit a pot hole knocked loose a exhaust nut .
Scooter got loud 2 miles after the pot hole .
Had to stop by a friends grab a ride grabbed exhaust nut and wrench and a rag to check for exhaust leaks .
Shot home I will have to check clearance after new tires are on otherwise stock exhaust replaces the lion.

70 miles on the kit . top speed now 43 + I gps ed at 44.6 on one run but I had a downhill spot that I did not allow for
The 75 is to rich rejetted to a 72 mikuni .
Plug chop was dead on was 77 degrees up from 50 so 27 degrees difference the 72 smoke ring was close to perfect .
For those of you with a lighted magnifyng glass you can see the ring if you are not sure hack off the end .
I taught my son tonight how to judge it
Summer jet 72 with a pipe is the number spring fall jet I could use a 75.
Tires just got here I have tires for the vino and the zuma .
With the tires they are a size taller so i might pick up the last 2 miles I am looking for .

Unveiled The upgraded scoot to my wife .
Warned her the power had changed a bit and not to jam on it unless she wants to do a wheelie.
Went for about a 10 mile run .
She runs 45+ with She runs right with the Top end of the Zuma .
She totally smokes me off the line .
She got off and said Wow with that BBK smile and said
Now that's a Mothers Day Gift.

michelin s1 are on my wifes vino
they are one size up 90 /90 /10 5 % taller so top speed should increase
The back tire has good clearance the front one is tight.
So will have to see how that handles bumps.
Going to try the wild lion back on and see if the clearance is better.
Gotta take it easy on the new tires for a 100 miles to break off the slick coating.
My compressor didnt have the power to pop the bead so I had to run down to the golf cart shop and use theirs.

Have to go down a size going to use 3.00 inches x 10 michelin s1 for the fron tires .
They rub on the right side in the front.
90/90 10 on back works
Tires will take a week to get here .

Installed the michelin S1 front tire at size 3 inches by 10 mm have s1 90/90/10 on the back .
Installed the wild Lion back on vino I picked up a little clearance from the taller tires .
Have to let permatex exhaust sealant cure for 24 hours .
Did not have time to take it for a test drive Thursday looks like a great day for that

Hit 45 mph tonight
Took a 25 mile run with the new tires .
First impression on break in is they Michelins are a nice upgrade
Little taller and faster They corner better.
The size up in the back shifts the weigh naturally forward so the front end doesn't get as light.

30 mile run tonight
Vino Rounds off at 45mph .
Just flys up to 40
That is plenty fast for the suspension and brakes
I am just about finished on it .
Possibly variator upgrade in the future

The malossi bbk and wild lion sure helps with the launch the tires cleaned up the handling.

So for 80 dollars in tires 150 in the bbk kit 130 in the pipe and some jets
Less than 400 bucks took the vino from 30 mph -45 mph .

Put another 30 miles on it.
Peak top end is at 46 mph .
Have to put the tach on it to see where rpms are at now I was at 8800 rpms stock .
I also need the tach to just dial in the trans a little tighter .
