I just replaced my OEM tires. They're sitting in my garage now collecting dust.

Pix below. I've been very busy lately so I only have about 20 miles on these new tires but they've been ok. At least nothing that I noticed differently versus the OEM dual purpose tires since I don't go offroad.

F - 100/60-12
R - 110/70-12

Your turn in rate will be affected. Essentially with wider tires, you can either say initiating a turn will be slower or you'll have to exert more effort to make that same turn as you would with stock widths. Upswing is it will feel more planted or stable in mid corner thru exit.

Whats the reason you want to go wider?

I thought that a wider tire would improve handling. I bought a 11' zuma 125 with 700 miles on it so the tires have been on there some three years and rarely used. I dont like the way the OE tires wanders a bit when rolled on there side. I'd iike a tire set up that, maybe combined with lowering the fork, could decrease or neutralize the scooters rearward weight bias and improve the scooters handling.

Depends on what you mean by improving handling. You will have to prefer one or another: quicker turn in or stability. Sounds like you want stability. Also to add on what mike said above, I've never heard of anyone going wider in the front. Rear only since this is where the power train is connected to. This is all coming from experience with track riding my R6. Things may be different now, but that's my $0.02.

Any rearward bias or balance settings can only be done with adjustable suspension (preload/rebound). Tires won't help that.

Ive been messing with tire pressures since the OE suspension lacks any kind of adjustability. Im running the front tire about 3 psi less than the rear in order to slow down the turn in up front. The results have been barely noticeable since the OE tires are shite. Having read this multi page thread i see what tires are popular but not too much about which work the best on the zuma. I had kenda "34s"? on a aprilia sr 50 and they were alright but i never really pushed um since going fast on the aprilia was sketchy. Sticking with the OE sizing i like the SL 23-25.

soon to roll over 6000 miles on my first set of OEM's and am nearing bald on the rear (fronts got plenty of life left)

What seem to be the most popular tire? I tried browsing through the thread but didn't find a signle tire that stood out.

99% city riding with GOOD wet performance is what i'm after.

I have had great success with the Pirelli GTS 23 / GTS 24 tires. Fantastic wet traction and water displacement.

So I have enjoyed my Michelin Pilot sports for about 8000 miles and its time to replace them...except it looks like they've been discontinued!

I'm looking at the City Grip or maybe the Boppers...Anyone vouch for either of those?

thanks~

Just got back from the local Yamaha dealer getting the tires mounted, but they don't have the ability to balance them.
