Post Oil strainer or lack of
Hey quick question. We just sold my sons 50 and got him a125. First thing I did was to change the oil. And when I pulled the cap where the strainer is supposed to be there is none. No strainer and no spring. It is a 2009 with 3600 miles. Is it ok to run it that way or should I order a new strainer and spring.

I don't know for sure but I would say no or at least I wouldn't.

I guess it depends on how long you want that engine to last. I would absolutely order a new strainer and spring, I keep an extra around and swap out when I change the oil, so it gets a fresh one and I can clean the one I removed to be ready next time. Remember, it doesn't have a "real" oil filter.
