the only way may be to find the ppg paint code and see if i can get some one to mix it for me

See if you can find the paint. Check with the local body shops and maybe if you do all the prep and supply the materials they will shoot if for a decent price. We prep all my nephews karts and supply all the supplies. The local body shop charges $25.00 to shoot two full bodies. Just an idea.

Post Re: March SOTM - Winterizing/Scoot builds
if it wast for the fact that custom paint on bikes is a big thing around here that might fly
after the wreck i needed a simple estimate for the dent in the frame and none of the body shops would even look at it when they found out it was a bike i had to go to a shop that specializes in bikes
a pearl paint job is 3 stages and if the pearl stage (the middle stage) isnt done just right with all the panels sitting at the right angles it will look funny and the hard part will be the fact that the cowels come off and a shop will want to pant them the easy way with them laying down
i would also have to pull the front fender off and that means pulling apart the head set and pulling the fork
so the scoot would have to go on the trailer be trailerd home and put back togther with all the fresh paint
very nerve racking
if i go with a standerd base coat clear coat and diy i can get by with doing it with the fender on
as the spary angle wont need to be as perfect

Guilty--but it was still a good photo for the Board.

I dont really get what this SOTM is about.Do you have to have your project finished or are you looking for the build in progress. Here a pic of mine in progress.Ive been working on it alot over the winter. Its getting close.I have to finish the engine, paint, one off gas tank, and Im going to make a frame brace to tie the frame together if that makes sense.

I was gonna say that, too! I would also add that Shawn could win for cleanest workspace, as well.

BTW, some of Shawn's tools are mine! I haven't forgotten, Shawn. :q:
