Post Yamaha Riva
There's a Yamaha Riva 50cc for sale locally in fairly good shape.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this model and if it can be swapped to a bbk.

The engine is NOT a Minarelli although there may be a BBk for it. It might be a good candidate for an engine swap. While at it swap the front brakes too as they look very anemic especially for anything bigger than a 50cc.

Since it has been sitting it will need a complete going over and many parts replaced, so keep that in mind.

It does have a CVT. The Riva 50 and 80 were the first Yamahas sold in the USA with CVTs.

My only concern is the 6 volt electronics. Was going to look at it in person and see how the engine is mounted concerning a swap and I have a full electrics from a Zuma bug-eye so that part cant be to hard. Maybee if they go down to $200 I may take a gamble. It has that cool Japan made Lambretta look to it. Always liked the early Rivas.

No, electronic ignition! I was shocked when I found that out. Also runs a 25watt headlight. Im sure I could just revive it and ride it as-is, but I like to tinker and I cannot have the slowest scooter on the street, hence the swap with a faster 2t motor. Let me go and look at it, as we all know pictures are not always what they seem.
