Post Just wanted to show my mockup
I mocked up my stretch last night and drew the brackets up. I'm cutting them out today and hopefully welding them in this weekend.

So I got it together and running Friday night around 10 so heres the first pic while out on its first cruise:

I'm super happy how it came out. I stretched it 8" and lowered the motor mount about 1.5" This winter I need to pull it apart and paint the frame.

WOW, that is exactly what I would like to see mine look like!!!

Would save me buying a Ruckus. This looks better!!!

I would appreciate more pics as well.

You said youlowered the mount 1.5". How'd you do that part?

Was the stretch seperate from the lowering of the mount?

Did you have to relocate the top shock mount?

Cant wait for more pics.

Post Re: Just wanted to show my mockup
The lowering was incorporated into the mount when i made it longer. i basically set the scooter on the ground with the stock mount and measured 8" back and 1.5" up and made the new plates to mount it there. I ended up welding the bracket directly to the frame but I have a couple friends that want me to do their zumas so I stripped my wife's zuma down to the frame so i can redesign my extension so it will bolt on using the original rubber mounts. I made a new shock mount on the frame. I got super lucky when i made the mount as i built it with the intention of having to cut the left side plastic for it but it fit without any cutting. Im going ot go out to the garage now and take a few pics for you guys.

Cant wait to see the pics.

Keep this post up to date, PLEASE.

I have a feeling there are a lot more out there that would love to do this mod but need help.

A bolt on mount would be the best.

Heres the wifes all torn down:

Heres what the stock mount looks like:

And heres what mine now looks like:
Image
Untitled by BLanigan747, on Flickr

The shock it close but i didnt have to cut the plastics:
Image
Untitled by BLanigan747, on Flickr

I had to cut a little of the trunk:
Image
Untitled by BLanigan747, on Flickr

But with the foam tray no ones the wiser:
Image
Untitled by BLanigan747, on Flickr

I relocated the coil rather than get a longer plug wire:
Image
Untitled by BLanigan747, on Flickr

Heres everything with the panel off . I welded the shock mount right to the tail end of the frame under where the studs for the fuel tank are. i used box tubing because it slid right into the c shape of the frame and was the right width for the shock mount:
Image

Here you can see I welded my mounts to the frame. my plan on Mk2 is to use the original rubber dampener mounts as you feel more of the engine vibration when it welded:

Oh and I lowered the engine mount because i wanted to get the back end nice and low without tipping the engine too far forwards.

Im going to strip it down this winter and paint the frame as well.

Thank you guys for the compliments. I'm really hoping to make this capable of being a bolt on kit. If I do you guys will know it and I will make them available.

Post Re: Just wanted to show my mockup
I lowered the front a little by cutting some of the coils out of the springs. I may look into lowering it some more now that the back is down.

For cables etc. I did the Stem and Bars setup and Stage6 billet controls. The Stage6 kit came with a throttle cable that is plenty long. The only wire that wont reach in stock form is the plug wire. As I showed in the picture I decided to move the coil mount back to allow me to use the stock wire but that was just my preference, A new wire would be possible and probably easier. I don't have the rear brake cable hooked up yet and I haven't checked its reach with the stretch because I don't have a lever, but it had plenty of length prior to stretching it so I should be all set there.
