Post 05 zuma 50 lost of power uphill
I have an 05 zuma with a top trophy bbk. I have road the bike a total of like 200 miles the past year it only has 1700 on it. I have no power going uphill it starts and runs fine. I have replaced the spark plug, cleaned the carb, and replaced the vbelt, cleaned air filter. The only problem I can think of is maybe bad gas from sitting this winter or the contra spring from which I did some research and people were having the same problem as me. Any more info would be appreciated.

I’m assuming an oem belt. The after market ones are not a proper fit.
But ditch the whole rear pulley and clutch in favor of the 08 to 11 one

Yah OEM belt. I'm just thinking it's the contra spring just want to fix it before it gets nice.

Sounds like you are not down shifting.
So checking the contra to see if it is binding.
OR if the torque driver is binding .
I just replaced a contra because it was weak on the Beamer ,The sheeves pulled apart with very little effort ,So it would not down shift right away.

Looking at the OEM catalogs, they show the same parts for the 08-11 and the 02-05 versions. Has Yamaha made the executive decision to use the updated parts as OEM replacements for the older models? Am I missing something?

Cheap cycle parts still sows them as different parts

Looking again--I think I was mistakenly looking at part numbers for the primary sheave on the front end, not the secondary sheave on the back end.
