Post Newbie maintenance help please - 2008 zuma
Maintenance required?

Put 4k km in one year on my 2008 Zuma 2-stroke. Ran great when I bought her at 5,200 km, and still runs great at 9,600.

No work done other than breaks. Tires are good and all feels fine and safe.

Maintenance? Tune ups? What can I do myself?

Thanks so much!

Number one thing for health of a 2 stroke is the Spark plug . You have already cover tires and brakes .

What does your plug look like black as charcoal or brown as cracker jacks
Cracker jack is great .

When was the last time gear oil in transmission was done ?
Measure the belt 14.6 mm is wear limit any cracking fraying curling .
If you have to change the belt then check the rollers or flat spots and regrease the rear torque driver .

Do you have service manual ?

The 2 stroke zumas are very easy to work on if you have any mechanical aptitude my 11 year old son has helped me install 3 big bore kits
