Post Zuma 50f four stroke big bore kits, mods and results
Newbie here. Recently bought a 2015 zuma 50f and wanted to know the results of other users who have upgraded their 4 stroke zumas. I already removed the restrictor washer and went from 34 mph gps to 41 mph gps on flats and 43.4 mph downhill but the rev limiter always kicks in.
I’m planing on buying the Polini 66cc bbk or a 60cc bbk on eBay for $90
I’m getting malossi 13/44 up gears, Polini air filter, malossi racing belt and dr pulley 5g sliders.
Not sure what big bore kit to go with. I’d appreciate feedback from fellow 4 stroke zuma owners. Thank you

I went ahead and put a big bore kit in my Zuma 4T.
Here’s a video of my progress. Before and after the big bore kit:

Well not really lol. With how much I spent in parts and the Zuma itself I could have just got a Zuma 125 which I wanted to do but my GF doesn’t have a motorcycle license or permit so I was trying to make this go faster so she can keep up with me lol

I see. It seems more practical in the future if your gf would acquire a license.

She probably never will and who knows how long we’ll be together. We’re not on “future wedding” terms currently lol

It’s been awhile since I made an updat but I figured it’s time now that I’m all done adding to this scooter. Just put on Michelin Booper 130/90-10 on front and rear, also adding the rollingwrenchdenver.com fuel controller as well as 6.5g rollers. I tried 5g sliders and they just didn’t feel good. There was this weird delay when I gave it throttle and I made sure to install them correctly. Next I tried 8g sliders and thought they felt better but my speed was slightly reduced on flat and considerably down hill. Before I could go 54.4 mph down hill with 6.9g rollers and now I went 52.9 and hit the rev limiter. I removed the 8g sliders and put 6.5g rollers in. I’m done with sliders lol waste of time and money. I’m still averaging 45-47 on flat with occasional 50 if it’s a flat that turns into a very gradual down grade (this is all gps speed as seen by using my cell phone) the scooter speedometer is 2 mph off.
Well anyhow I now can go almost 57 mph down hill! But that’s all. I hit the rev limiter at 56.9 MPH GPS confirmed.
I realize this thing will never go 50 on flat so my battle ends here. Time for me to get a Zuma125 and big bore that next :awesome:

So I was messing around with my fuel tuner and decided to give my Zuma an extra 24-26% more fuel through all the RPMs. I filled my tank and went on a 56 mile round trip. Filled my tank when I got back and put 0.75 gallons in. I did the math and realized I’m only getting about 75 MPG which to me is terrible. My Honda Forza gets 74.5 MPG and is way faster lol so I decided to retune the fuel to 10% throughout the RPMs and it’s slightly slower when it comes to take off and takes a few more seconds to get up to full speed but I can live with that. Now I should be getting about 90-95 MPG which I’m happy with. I know I gave up on sliders too but I bought some 6.5g one for $9 just to try out. I’ll give them one last shot and let you guys know if it gives me any extra performance gains.

So I did a little more tuning today. With 6.5 gram rollers I was able to achieve 56.9 MPH GPS but I’d hit the rev limiter. I tried just 6 gram rollers and hit the rev limiter at 56.3 MPH GPS. Today I put half 6 and half 6.5 gram rollers in the Variator for a total weight of 37.5 grams and was able to achieve 59.8 MPH GPS down hill. I don’t know if I hit my rev limiter cuz I didn’t feel it kick in. So maybe I can do 61 but I can’t imagine anymore than that. Either way I’m happy with my speeds now. I live in a mountainous area of New England so it works out for me. I think I’m gonna call it quits with tuning for now. My next goal is to get a Zuma 125 and to big bore it, so stay tuned fellow Zuma riders! :D :awesome:

Before I get a Zuma 125 I’m gonna go ahead and get a 75cc kit for this and give my 66cc kit to my buddy who has a 2015 Zuma too. That way he can mostly keep up with me lol. I’m thinking my 66cc kit can’t push my 13/44 gears at 100% so if I got more CCs then maybe it can push them and I’ll be able to go as fast as a stock Zuma 125. That’s my hope at least. If it doesn’t work then I think I’ll get polini 16/51 gears and then it should have no problem pushing them. I’ll let you guys know when I buy the 75cc kit. It’s like $450 but I want to get it by the end of the month.
