Post Connecting the Water Pump
So, I recently converted my Zuma to liquid cooled. The issue I was running into when connecting the water pump to the battery was that I would sometimes forget the switch and end up leaving on overnight draining the battery completely. So to fix this I wired the radiator pump to the tail light. This ended up not working so well in my favor as I believe it was supplying 12 volts I believe it was too many wats or amps. Not too sure just yet. This resulted in the water pump overheating leaving the fitting from the hose to the pump vulnerable to leaking. And that is exactly what happened. Is there a way to wire the water pump up to the battery that will somehow trigger the water pump to start once the key is inserted and turned to the on position? Or is the only way to wire it directly to the battery with a switch in between. Any insight would be helpful.

You would have more power pulling right from the battery then running through the tail light

The only spot you could get more power then the battery is running on the ac side pulling from the headlight

Run a relay where the trigger wire comes from the key switch

Post Re: Connecting the Water Pump
it's the Motoforce 12v. For some reason wiring it to the tail light made it run way hot. So hot to the point to where it started leaking. I spliced it into the Brown tail light wire right in between the Flasher Relay and the CDI .

Makes me wonder if the connection was just coming loose. Is there a better water pump that you know of and or one that performs better??

Also, Im thinking about purchasing the Inner rotter ignition. Premium Direct Digital. It's just so expensive. Is this modification worth the cost or is there another mod that would give me an increase in top speed over the inner rotor ignition kit?

Or would it have gotten hotter due to the fact that it's not pumping as fast?
